OK, I will not take too long...
>BUT<
When "Synare" came to the market with it new snare in 1979(?) (in my pics just on top), it was nothing short of >AMAZING<. The sonic possibilities were (for the small area available) stunning.
After that, Simmons (and EVERYBODY that FOLLOWED) came out with (excuse me) a set of >BORING< drums. EVERYBODY that followed them (with very limited exceptions) didn't change the design, until later in the decade, and it wasn't that great (if you ask me).
Now let me state that adding a design (a tiny change on the circuit board, at the cost of >> 0$ <<) or a fraction of the price, would have propelled the drums sounds to... Who knows where... The 80 were a time of great discoveries... And here we are with a drum sound >STUCK< with the possibility of little change given to us.
Having had the chance (or having the chance of knowing what I know in circuit design now), I would have >REVOLUTIONISE< the way the electronic drums sounds.
A >SMALL< change (as a cost of >> 0$ <<) or a small amount, would make the sounds >COMPLETELY< different! But instead of finding new sounds, we were >STUCK< in a (let's call it a >STATE< that, unfortunately) kept drummers with very little experiment with.
Just imagine combining the Simmons brain with the Synare "logic"... The problem with the "early" Simmons is that the was no >MODULATION< (except for the UP/DOWN). Just adding the >MODULATION< to the voices would have been amazing! They did so but in the late state of the drum modules.
You could modulate the frequency, the pitch, everything, everything!!! And the cost would be >0$< or a tiny fraction. of their cost.
I can't believe that we were >STUCK< like that!
THERE, I thought I would let you know that, yes they were >LIMITED< by the design, and not by the >0$< it would have cost us for getting >MORE< sonic >MARVELOUSNESS™️< at >0$< or a small amount...

FOR THE >6< REMAINING VIDEOS, IT'S A VISIT OF THE PAST OF ALL ELECTRONIC DRUMS... >EVERYTHING< IS COVERED (EXEPT FOR THOSE THAT ARE NOT)
Here is the "65 Drums" Youtube video page: https://www.youtube.com/@65Drums/videos
These drums are my favourite electronic drums. I'd have a set if I could still play with one arm. BUT they are the best in my opinion.
THOSE WERE MY FAVORITE DRUMS AT THE TIME...
AN AMAZING WEBSITE ON THE HISTORY OF THE ELECTRONIC DRUMS. I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW LOOKING AT THOSE DRUMS MADE ME FEEL WHEN I WAS 12 YEARS OLD...
A LOOK AT THE SIMMONS ELECTRONIC DRUMS
>MY< SYNTHESIZER: THE "AURORA 93"
HERE IS >MY< SYNTH... EVERYTHING IS PERFECTLY IN ORDER (I THINK). THE SPECS FOLLOW A PERFECT LOGICAL ORDER. AND YOU HAVE THINGS SUCH AS "VERY HIGH FREQUENCY" OSCILLATOR. THIS DOESEN'T MAKE YOU HEAR A SOUND IN THE HI FREQUENCY PER SE, >BUT< YOU >HEAR< A >DIFFERENCE< OF 2 (OR MORE) WAVES. ITS REALLY REALLY COOL!!!
HERE'S THE LINK FOR A BIGGER VIEW:
YouTube >automatically< plays the videos >he< selected (on the right)... So just relax and enjoy...
COOL SENSE OF ODD MELODIES. I LOVE IT!
A BUNCH (MAYBE ALL [???]) OF SYNTH MANUFACTURERS ON WIKIPEDIA
A SITE WITH TONS OF STUFF...
GO TO THE " POPULAR POSTS, LABELS & ARCHIVES " PAGE. IT'S THE PLACE WITH ALL THE GOOD STUFF (I THINK)
