This was filmed right around the date of my first show ever. (You have to go to another site to see it).
This also was the song that made me *resonate* the most. It was amazing the way it made me feel. The whole event with the lights, the super bassy sound (you had to be there to really understand, the bass drum was insane. You could >feel< every hit in your gut). The concert when everything is new, its just incredible.
All that to say, the video was *the best* event, for me.
Something I am not too sure about, is why did Rush not put the video for this song on their site? Maybe I didn't look properly... In any case the video of Subdivisions needs to be there (???), no?
A Show Of Hands
The best recording of that song. It just sounds too perfect...
A live album that I probably listened to too much.
R40 LIVE
HERE'S A CLIP TAKEN OF NEIL AS HE PLAYS MARATHON LIVE
CBC
GREAT INTERVIEW - P.S. YOU MAY WANT TO MAKE SOME SPAGHETTI FOR WHEN YOU WATCH THIS, IT LASTS 45 MINUTES... SO... BON APPETIT!
FUNNY!!!
IN CLEVELAND FOR THEIR INDUCTION
And to Teddy and Leust, you know, we wonder (well "me" I should say, and I'm sure many people would like to see too) how your jamming area looks like. Do you think you would be OK with a few pics of the jam area? Or maybe a clip of the area(s)?
I looked a bit for videos and pictures and I can't find any. For all the years I'm sure there must be something???
Thanks!
A Toronto band playing the coolest remake of Subdivisions...
Did I say they're from Toronto?
I can not get my system to accept it... the band is called Raized Wrong and they play Tom Sawyer. What a sound. They sound HUGE. They're like 10-11 or so. Incredible.
A great drummer playing to all Rush songs. He plays a small bit of every song. I can only imagine the time involved in choosing where in each part he would play. I can just imagine the hours involved... Check him out!
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO THINK DRUMMING IS NOT DIFFCULT, SCARS IS BAR NONE THE BEST DRUM SOLOS EVER. IT IS VERY HARD TO PLAY! IT SEEMS EASY BUT IT TAKES A VERY LONG TIME TO GET IT RIGHT. CHECK HER OUT!
I went at the Montreal Forum a couple of days after this sound check. I TAPED THE WHOLE SHOW... BUT I did the unthinkable... I "lent" my tapes to someone who got he apartment stolen... The tapes were 9/10 sound quality. IF ANYBODY HAS THE 1990 MONTREAL SHOW, I WOULD BE EXTREMELY HAPPY IF YOU COULD SEND ME A COPY OF MY 1ST SHOW EVER... Thanks!
I think Ned Steinberger is THE BEST when it comes to understanding bass and what it means to have something COMPACT. It is too bad that he stopped using carbon fibre... I think that no matter how many years have passed, the future, has stopped when it comes to carbon fibre basses... COME ON, BRING BACK YOUR L2 BASS!!! THEY ARE AWESOME!!! It time to realize just HOW GOOD these basses were! https://www.rush.com/gear/steinberger-l2/ https://bassmusicianmagazine.com/2020/10/one-of-the-most-radical-instruments-ever-made-the-steinberger-l2/
So what would you say to the possibility of a FINAL "reunion" set of shows?
I will explain the concept. Before you say "no", here is an idea that would solve the problems that were mentioned ... All the world has your attention.
For those who have NOT seen them live, there is just no words of what kind of show you have missed! You can see it on TV, but the reality is, NOTHING come close to seeing them in person. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! That is if they say yes.
OK, here we go!
FIRST: You would have MANY DRUMMERS playing! Perhaps 3 drummers (?) of your choice. This will eliminate the "I CAN NOT take the place of Neil" feeling. AND, you guessed it, Nandi Bushell playing her favourite songs with you... Imagine her in the lineup. That would be a EVENT for EVERYBODY to see!
That way you celebrate the final show, all different drummers, with the DVD, as a final goodbye...
SECOND: The drums are TWO GENUINE sets of Neil Peart drums. A set of HIS OWN drums ON THE FLOOR that nobody touches, and you have a different set of drums , high up were the drummers will play. That way you have a "missing" Neil on the floor, and you have the other drummers the "attempt" to play his part.
So that way it will resemble Neil on his last tour, with 2 drum sets. The final part of the show with his double bass drum, that remains on the floor as one of his last goodbyes...
THIRD: The drum solo features Neil on the giant screen in the back. I can just IMAGINE the scene... Can you imagine the emotions?
FORTH: With the amount of people that are just about to discover Rush, and the DVD, and the whole world about to see this, how can you say no???
IT'S GOING TO BE AAAAAWESOME!!!!!
So... So... So... ???
